Have you seen this "Snowman"?

Updated: Jan 30, 2022

In further examination of the Egregor archive, I happened upon a file with less information than I have come to expect. Simply labeled “Snowman”, this file contains only 2 images and no text documents. The first image is something that I have encountered many times before.

It is from the Dyatlov Pass incident, a famous Soviet mystery. In 1959, nine experienced cross country skiers were found to have succumbed to gruesome, mysterious deaths in the Ural Mountains. Their deaths have sprung many theories and counter-theories. The theory which seems to have the most evidence suggests that the group was killed at the hands of an abominable snowman. In addition to some injuries that would be consistent with this cause of death, this image and a few diary entries survived the expedition. Many believe this to have simply been a hoax that just so happened to have occurred before their mysterious death. Egregor’s file contains no information in any direction - just a copy of this photograph.

The other image in the file is one which I had never seen before. It appears to show some cryptid that is not too dissimilar from Dyatlov pass image. The most striking aspect of this photo, however, has to be the unrivaled proximity between photographer and subject. This sort of distance is foreign to the whole genre of paranormal images, which suggests that this is either really-real or really-fake. Seeing as how this photo - like so many of Egregor’s - yields no successful reverse image search, I am doubtful that anyone may be able to provide further information about its origin. If you’ve seen this image before, then

please contact me. Until more can be learned, this snowman will remain on ice.
